Sectors
BeEnvironmental projects have focused on environmental and waste management issues in the public sector (central and local government, and the environmental regulators), private sector (waste management companies), academia (university clients) and community sector. We are therefore well placed to develop workable solutions taking account of different issues and perspectives. The following examples highlight experience in key sectors.

Local Authorities
BeEnvironmental have extensive experience in delivering support to local authority clients. Ranging from writing the waste strategies for Birmingham City Council and the Merseyside Authorities to the development of a communications plan for South Lakeland District Council or sustainability appraisals for Halton Borough Council, we have the expertise to meet a wide range of client needs.
Particular areas of expertise include:
- Development of municipal waste management strategies. Client examples: Wiltshire County Council, Merseyside Waste Partnership, Birmingham City Council, York and North Yorkshire Waste Management Partnership
- Consultation strategies and delivery of consultation exercises to inform and involve residents and stakeholders in waste infrastructure development. Client example: Birmingham City Council

Private Sector
BeEnvironmental consultants have considerable experience with project delivery for private sector clients.
A recently completed project provided support to SITA UK Ltd in developing tender documentation for a best and final offer bid for a major municipal waste management recycling, treatment and disposal private finance initiative contract.

Community
BeEnvironmental have reviewed the effectiveness of the regional coordinators of the community waste organisations on behalf of the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and facilitated workshops with the aim of delivering an effective service to community groups through central government support.
Through our quality assurance role, BeEnvironmental have been responsible for the review of training course design and marking of assignments on the community group recycling training courses developed by the Waste and Resources Action Programme.

Central Government
BeEnvironmental are retained on the following Defra call off contracts:-
- Research
- Local Authority Direct Consultancy Support (namely: strategy, procurement)
- Communications
Examples of projects undertaken through these call-off contracts include: a benchmarking study of recycling collection costs using industry models; a review of the Direct Consultancy Support projects; project management of an anaerobic digestion of municipal waste research project.
We also support, through a sub-contract arrangement, elements of the Defra New Technologies programme on technical and communications issues and have extensive experience on this area through the project team.
BeEnvironmental are also on the WRAP call off contract for the Recycling and Organics Technical Advisory Team.
