Birmingham City Council Waste Strategy Development
BeEnvironmental were subcontracted by Deloitte to draft a municipal waste management strategy for the City of Birmingham, develop a targeted consultation strategy and revise the strategy in the light of these findings. This work was completed and the strategy was adopted in December 2006.

Wiltshire County Council Waste Strategy Development
BeEnvironmental undertook an options appraisal and identification of national and local drivers in the development of the Waste Management Strategy for Wiltshire County Council. In addition BeEnvironmental were also called upon to review the draft strategy and prepare a final strategy document.

Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority Communications Support
Working with the partnership BeEnvironmental produces communication plans to support their infrastructure development, and have developed broader communication strategies to promote engagement with the public.

Merseyside Waste Partnership (MWP) Strategy Update, Sustainability Appraisal and Waste Prevention Project
BeEnvironmental conducted six sustainability appraisals for the MWP, one for the Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy (JMWMS), and five for each of the District Council Action Plans. BeEnvironmental updated the MWP JMWMS and developed a waste prevention and reuse strategy, supported by a benchmarking exercise and business case. A study considering waste growth projections was also undertaken and delivered. A review of district council performance (actual versus projected) was developed and presented to the partnership.

City of York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership Waste Strategy and Partnership Development
This project entailed drafting the Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy for the partnership, taking account of the results of a full public consultation and finalising the Strategy and associated appendices in the light of the 2005 guidance. A report was also commissioned considering the high waste arisings in North Yorkshire and the factors influencing these arisings. The project also involved Partnership Development activities. BeEnvironmental (subcontracted on this project by Enviros consulting) developed a Business Plan, Draft Terms of Reference and provided support to the partnership.

Coventry City Council Strategic Review of Municipal Waste Management
BeEnvironmental reviewed the municipal waste management service in Coventry and produced a strategic development report on how the service could evolve to meet the current and anticipated challenges facing the service.

Cumbria Waste Partnership
BeEnvironmental supported the development of a bid on behalf of the partnership to secure funding from the Behavioural Fund launched by the Waste and Resources Action Programme). The bid was successful.

South Lakeland District Council Recycling Strategy and Communications Review
BeEnvironmental undertook a review of current recycling strategies with a view to identifying future options to meet long term targets and developing an accompanying communications plan. This work involved the development of strategies to facilitate targeting of hard to reach groups, which in this particular case was a disperse rural population.

East Riding Council Recycling Incentive Evaluation
BeEnvironmental analysed the potential in performance and cost terms of the introduction of recycling incentive schemes for the East Riding. This included a model of costs/benefits.

Halton Borough Council Strategy Update, Sustainability Appraisal and Waste Prevention Strategy Development
BeEnvironmental updated the Municipal Waste Management Strategy (MWMS) for Halton Borough Council and conducted sustainability appraisals both on the strategy and its action plan. A waste prevention strategy and business case were also developed supporting the MWMS update.
