  • MPhil in Public Participation in Waste Management;
  • research into public perceptions in relation to waste and its management

• Local Government Responsibilities and Activities:

  • development of waste management plans and supporting communication strategies;
  • worked closely with local authorities, county councils and waste disposal authorities throughout the north-west of England since 1986;
  • well-established network of contacts in all fields of waste management.

  • facilitation and management of a wide range of local and national stakeholder meetings and events

• Project Management:

  • extensive project management experience;
  • project managed European-funded projects up to the value of €2m

• Education and Training:

  • qualified NVQ assessor and verifier;
  • designed and delivered training programmes to candidates working in all sectors of the waste industry;
  • provided training to other assessors;
  • developed bespoke educational and training packages for business and industry;
  • developed training material for local authorities in relation to the new technology supporter programme

• Quality Assurance:

  • developed and delivered quality assurance methodology for the Waste and Resources Action Programme
  • developed and delivered quality assurance methodology for local authority new technology training programme

• Research:

  • supervised both qualitative and quantitative research projects in all aspects of waste management including, waste minimisation and recycling, landfill, waste collection, flytipping, hazardous waste management and transfrontier shipment of wastes.
